There are four comfortable and fully furnished apartments available in the heart of Poljanska dolina. The apartments are situated on a farm called “Karnišnk” in Visoko, a village that lies next to the Poljanska Sora river. The village’s rich history, its well preserved architecture and tranquility inspired the well known Slovenian writer Ivan Tavčar to write:
“I’d rather die of hunger in the heart of my home valley than sitting on the German emperor’s chair, with wealth abounding!”
Our apartments
I used my satchel to make her a small headrest,
then she laid down and quickly fell asleep!
Ivan Tavčar, Blossoms in Autumn
There are 4 fully furnished apartments available; two are in the mansard and two in the old granary that served as a grain storehouse, as the farm was involved in milling and timber trade. The granary, renovated in 2006, was built in the early 40s of the 20th century and is an example of the secession movement architecture.
All apartments have a kitchen, living room, sleeping quarters and bathroom.
All apartments also have:
– A shared veranda with an outdoor kitchen and barbecue,
– Air conditioning,
– Internet access,
– Satellite TV.
Our farm is also ecologically aware:
the heating is fueled by wood biomass and
we have a modern water purifying plant for waste water.
Activities
Now that the hay is being cut, go set out into the hills!
Go climb rocks! Join the mowers!

The Škofjeloško hribovje and its valleys, with their expansive and picturesque scenery, are ideal for hiking, cycling, hunting, fishing, resting and relaxation.
History of our farm
We first walked through these hay meadows
five years ago, and they have stayed
in our hearts ever since.
Ivan Tavčar, Blossoms in Autumn
Historical sources confirm that several generations of family heads with the surname Debeljak (or Debellak, as some of the documents say) ruled the household.Since 1990, the farm has undergone a complete renovation.
The farm has been involved with tourism since the ’30s and ’40s of the 20th century. We are still in contact with some of our guests from that period.

Our location
The Karnšnk farm lies in Visoko in the Poljanska dolina valley.
Poljanska dolina (Poljanska Valley) extends across the land next to the Poljanska Sora river. The valley is about 35 kilometers long. Its south is flanked by the Polhograjsko hribovje, a range of hills. The Škofjeloško hribovje stretches to the valley’s north, while the hills of Cerkljansko and the Idrija plateaus expand in the west. The settlements are spread across the valley and solitary farms exist even above 1000 meters.
